Posted on Friday, July 25, 2008
The Scott County sheriff’s office is investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in a pond Wednesday. Sheriff Cody Carpenter identified the woman as Erma Holloway, 60, of the Parks community southeast of Waldron. Deputies found her body about 9: 40 a. m. on property off Arkansas 28 East. A residence on the property is owned by Holloway’s husband, Phillip Holloway, Carpenter said. Carpenter would not say if Erma Holloway lived at the residence or if foul play is suspected. A 911 caller summoned deputies to the property about 9: 20 a. m. Wednesday, Carpenter said, declining to name the caller.
Deputies searched the property for evidence, he said. They also interviewed Phillip Holloway and others.
Carpenter said Erma Holloway was born and raised in the area.
Her body was sent to the state Crime Laboratory in Little Rock, he said.
